23rd edition of “Marché du Monde” in Dudelange
10/07/2018On the 22nd June 2018, Unity Foundation had the pleasure to be invited by two teachers to present our Mercy’s Blessing workshop to their two classes. Fernand Schaber, president of Unity Foundation, and Yves Wiltgen worked with around 30 students, ages between 17 – 18 years.
After watching the movie, Fernand and Yves had the opportunity to discuss some of the themes touched upon in the movie with the students, namely the importance of education and how important it is for one’s future.
An interesting point during the discussion was the question whether Blessings’ choice to drop out of school for his sister was good or not. The students had a very nice exchange about this question by expressing their different points of view and arguments. They finally realized that there is not just one correct answer to this question.
The students were also encouraged to make the link to their own situation in Luxembourg, and to reflect about how the education they are currently getting will impact their future and how they are making, and will continue to make, a contribution to the positive development of society.
Both the students and the teachers welcomes the opportunity to reflect about these subjects in the setting of our workshop, and Fernand and Yves had a great time working with them.
