In its efforts to support and promote positive community-led transformation, UF gives vital importance to the principle of gender equality. Women have always played an important role in any society, but their important contributions are often neglected and unrecognized. The full participation of women in building a better world in which they can enjoy full equality of education and opportunity, and an equal voice in decision-making, is essential for creating a sustainable social order. To further explore these concepts with you, we would like to share an invitation to a public screening of the film:
“Glimpses into the Spirit of Gender Equality”. The screening will be held online with UN actors, international civil society organizations, and government representatives, and is being organized by The Bahá’í International Community’s United Nations Office (BIC):

The film has been produced by the BIC to mark the 25th Anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, and it shows the advancement of women at the grassroots in connection with the conversation unfolding at the United Nations over the past 25 years. The film touches on the lives of individuals from diverse communities around the world, including Colombia, India, Malaysia, the United States, and Zambia and their experiences in applying the principle of gender equality to their lives, contributing to the goals articulated in the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
We look forward to seeing you at the screening and to the deeper conversations it will inspire on the importance of gender equality and the imperative to instill a sense of hope and optimism for humanity’s progress.
