12/02/2022Unity Foundation signs its second framework agreement with the MFEA of Luxembourg!
On February 2, 2022, Unity Foundation signed its second framework agreement with the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MFEA), which will continue to support UF for the next five years (2022-2026).
The signing ceremony took place remotely with the Minister of Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Action Franz Fayot, Unity Foundation President Fernand Schaber and the rest of the UF team.
Six other NGOs were also present for the signing of their framework agreement: Action pour un monde uni, Guiden a Scouten fir ENG Welt, Handicap International, Fondation partage, Soleil dans la main and SOS village d’enfants du monde. Thus, seven framework agreements were signed today for a total amount of 32 million euros granted by the MFEA between 2022 and 2026 to projects in 25 different countries. The Ministry stressed the importance of the work carried out by all the NGOs, especially in the context of increasing inequalities during the health crisis. It was also attentive to the challenges faced by NGOs in countries destabilized by violence.

The MFEA will co-finance Unity Foundation’s development program, entitled “Capacity Building for Integrated Development of Rural and Peri-urban Communities” at around 78%, i.e. €3,232,000 out of a total budget of €4,144,166. Building on the achievements of the previous framework agreement, this funding will support community schools, the Preparation for Social Action program and training centers established by our six partners, based in Cambodia, the Central African Republic, Colombia, Malawi, Uganda, and Zambia.
Our Indonesian partner YBTI, with whom UF has worked for over 20 years, has decided to continue its activities with other sources of funding. UF has learned a lot from its collaboration with YBTI, and we wish them much success in their continued efforts!

Unity Foundation warmly thanks the MFEA for its renewed trust and support for another five years!
