We are happy to invite you to the 14th edition of the Cinéma du Sud!

This year’s summer edition is all about sustainable development and innovation. The festival focuses on the documentary 2040. Through this work, director Damon Gameau offers us a positive and hopeful view of the future, which starkly contrasts with the widespread negative perspective of the future that is usually displayed in the media. He aims to show us what the year 2040 could look like if all humans were to adopt and implement existing solutions to combat climate change. He calls his vision “fact-based dreaming”, and it is exactly to this thought experiment that we want to invite you in this year’s edition: We want to know what 2040 will look like according to you ?

As usual, the Cinéma du Sud offers much more than a simple film screening. We invite you to discover innovative and sustainable projects based in Luxembourg at our marché des initiatives, the visit of the project 2000m2 and the discussion following the movie. Inspire yourself and help us to turn our dream of a positive future for our and future generations into reality.

Detailed program : 

• 5:30 pm and 6:15 pm: Tours of the 2000m2 project
• 7:00 pm: Screening of the film 2040
• 9:00 pm: Panel discussion with local players
• Throughout the evening: catering, activities and exchanges with NGOs
