10/05/2017In memory of Mr. Robert Nabeta, a beautiful example of intergenerational cooperation
Even if the Preparation for Social Action (PSA) program targets mainly youth aged 15 to 25, participation is not linked to an age limit. Thus, at the 2011 graduation ceremony of our partner in Uganda, the certificate was also handed over to Mr. Robert Nabeta, then 71 years old.
Born in 1942, Mr. Nabeta was married and a father of 15 children, 8 girls and 7 boys. He was an open man, full of humor and highly respected in his community. He joined the PSA program because of his thirst for knowledge, as he himself said:
“learning keeps me young.”
The group to which he belonged had given him the nickname “doctor” and even after completing the program, Mr. Nabeta remained very close to the project. He had made it his duty to explain the importance of this program to young people and to support them in putting into practice what they were learning.
Mr. Nabeta passed away on January 21, 2017, but the young people and the project team will always remember him as a committed man and honor his memory.
