16/05/2023BNE Fair: Bildung fir eng nohalteg Entwécklung - Education for sustainable development
Unity Foundation participated in the BNE – Education for Sustainable Development fair on Thursday 20 April at the Geesseknäppchen forum in Luxembourg City. Among the Luxembourgish NGOs and structures, we had a stand to present our activities and to raise awareness among teachers, students and the general public about the UN 2030 Agenda’s Sustainable Development Goal 4: “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education… for all”. One question was put at the center of the discussions to facilitate the exchange with the public: “What are the needs of young people?”
An array of answers were noted by passersby on various post-its. Thanks to this quiz, discussions and exchanges were able to emerge naturally on various themes such as altruism, justice and privileges, and we were able to inform the public about the various development education workshops offered by Unity Foundation in schools and different structures.
1-4. Luxembourg’s Minister of Cooperation, Franz Fayot, accompanied by Virginie Gilbert, Cooperation Officer, visited the Unity Foundation’s stand and talked with Unity Foundation members, Mina and Anne; 5. Quiz to engage the audience and start conversations around the question, “What are the needs of young people?”; 6. Lucie and Mina (behind the camera!) held the stand of Unity Foundation at the BNE 2023 fair!
The Luxembourg Minister for Cooperation, Franz Fayot, also made an appearance at our stand by answering the quiz with the word “Love”. A conversation ensued on the needs of young people and the evolution of the Unity Foundation’s projects for development education this past year. His enthusiasm encourages us to continue our efforts!
