A summary of our latest activities in Luxembourg
05/06/2025Our workshops are integrated into two subjects at the Aline Mayrisch High School!
Three times a week, Unity Foundation supports a teacher from the Aline Mayrisch High School, Ms. Khabirpour, in her two English classes as well as in her “Life and Society” course to lead various workshops from the UF catalog, chosen according to the needs and interests identified by the teacher and her students, such as strengthening class cohesion, reflecting on the role of their education and on their talents and potential to choose their future profession. The workshops used so far have been “Who am I and what is my role in society?”, “Empathy and Responsibility”, and “Resilience and Collaboration”, the last two workshops having been created by the Gemmes association.

A young SNJ volunteer at Unity Foundation leads a workshop.
The three workshops are based on inspiring short films followed by discussion time, artistic expression and group projects, which encourage young people to reflect together on the different concepts addressed and to carry out practical activities to apply them in their daily lives. Participants develop their listening and oral expression skills, they understand each other better and develop capacities such as cooperation, mutual support, a sense of justice in various situations, recognizing their prejudices, cultivating hope, among many others.

The students note down each other’s qualities on post-it notes.

Students learn to identify and express their emotions thanks to the beautiful wheel of emotions prepared by Gemmes!
The students illustrate the concepts covered in the workshop.
Thank you to the Aline Mayrisch High School for supporting this collaboration, which allows us to continue learning with teachers and young people how to promote their personal well-being, their cohesion and their commitment as agents of change! Thank you to Ms. Khabirpour for her commitment to organizing the interventions and using our teaching materials!
