Unity Foundation is continuously monitoring the situation of our local partners during these challenging times and we wanted to share with you an inspirational and heartwarming message from CORDE, our partner in Cambodia.
Just like most parts of the world, since the outbreak of COVID-19, many schools have been forced to close resulting in parents taking the primary role to ensure their children are following their school’s curriculum. For Cambodia, this has been no different and our partner CORDE has made sure to adapt to the situation by supporting parents and students to the best of their ability.
As the restrictions have eased slightly, a parents-teachers meeting was set-up for the first time since the lockdown. Parents, children and teachers were able to meet in an outdoor setting which allowed attendees to discuss openly the challenges and experiences during these past few months. In total, there were 25 students and 20 parents that attended this meeting.
Apart from this meeting, in certain necessary cases, teachers and coordinators have recently paid visits to families and the children while schools are still shut. As the beautiful photos depict, the purpose of these visits is to encourage and monitor the children´s evolution during these challenging times.
