Today is International Day of the Girl Child!
Enabling girls to grow and develop their capacities as equals to boys is crucial to the future and well-being of all societies.
Not only must girl children receive adequate food, health care, and education, they must be given every opportunity to develop their capacities. Girls will not only render service to humanity as mothers and first educators of the next generation, but, as women, they will make special contributions to the creation of a just world order.
We are proud of the fact that in social contexts where girls’ education is often considered less important, 52% of students in our partners’ community schools in Cambodia, Malawi, Central African Republic and Zambia are girls.
