09/09/2021KPMG Luxembourg Foundation supports Unity Foundation a second time!
The KPMG Luxembourg Foundation once again selected Unity Foundation to be one of the recipients of the 2021 Sponsorship Campaign, granting us with a generous donation of 20,000 €!
Since its creation in 2009, the KPMG Luxembourg Foundation has been active in creating positive societal impact and encouraging progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. They furthermore provide financial support to certain NGOs within Luxembourg whose main objectives are to support projects in diverse countries with the aim to improve life quality and build a more sustainable and resilient future. This year, they are supporting a total of 12 Luxembourg registered NGOs with a total donation of 306,814 €.
Like last year, Unity Foundation submitted our local partner in Malawi, Bambino Foundation, for this year’s campaign to be considered for funding through the KPMG Luxembourg Foundation. The main objective of Bambino Foundation is to assist communities in taking over their children’s education through the creation of community schools. In addition to supporting the education of children, Bambino Foundation promotes an agricultural action-research program aimed at meeting the nutritional needs of children and generating income for the schools.

At Unity Foundation, we have been blessed to witness that Bambino Foundation’s efforts have not gone unnoticed. More and more parents are willing to send their children to school, hence increasing the number of students and raising the need for more schools in the communities. As for so many around the world, 2020 was a very challenging year for Bambino Foundation. The foundation has had to adapt its activities considerably in order to help local communities deal with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, while continuing to provide education to the many kids who need it. They have worked tirelessly and in 2020, Bambino Foundation reported 72 active community schools, 4,549 students and 177 teachers. The Training Center also continued its activities as best it could given the restrictions that were in place throughout the year.
We are filled with gratitude to KPMG Luxembourg Foundation for having selected us once more this year and we have no doubt that this generous donation will further help Bambino Foundation in its endeavours.
