On the 23rd March 2018, Unity Foundation had the pleasure to participate at the “Journée de la Solidarité” organized by the Lycée Bel-Val in Belvaux. The school invited several NGOs to set up information stands in the entrance hall of the school as well as to offer workshops to which the teachers could sign up their classes prior to the event.
Unity Foundation offered Mercy’s Blessing and we were delighted to hear that three teachers had signed up their class for three separate sessions. Paola Dumet and Yves Wiltgen worked with a total of 36 students, ages between 12 – 15 years.
After watching the movie, Paola and Yves had the opportunity to discuss some of the themes touched upon in the movie with the students, namely the importance of education and how important it is for one’s future. The students were also encouraged to make the link to their own situation in Luxembourg, and to reflect about how the education they are currently getting will impact their future and how they are making, and will continue to make, a contribution to the positive development of society.
Both the students and the teachers welcomes the opportunity to reflect about these subjects in the setting of our workshop, and Paola and Yves had a great time working with them.
A big thank you to Lycée Bel-Val and everyone involved in the organization!
