On August 3, 2022, one of the founding members of Unity Foundation, Mrs. Bahereh Rassekh, passed away at the age of 102. Mrs. Rassekh was a woman of great integrity, compassion and keen intellect. She was a lifelong supporter of education and women’s rights. 

Fifty-five years ago, Mrs. Rassekh, originally from Iran, came to Luxembourg with part of her family and settled in Walferdange where she lived the rest of her life. It was in 1981 that the idea of creating Unity Foundation emerged in the minds of a group of friends of which she and her husband were part, and soon after they started the administrative steps to have Unity Foundation recognized by the Luxembourg government. 

Her nobility of soul, the elegance of her spirit and her love for all those who crossed her path have left their mark on those who had the chance to meet her. We send our sincere condolences to her loved ones as we continue to cherish her memory.
