The Red Suitcase and more: an evening dedicated to women's empowerment

Thursday 7 December 2023, 7-9pm, Ciné Utopia, Free entrance. Registration here.

At Unity Foundation, gender equality is a principle very close to our heart and central to the projects we support. We firmly believe that humanity’s progress is impossible unless women have the same opportunities as men to flourish, and we make every effort to translate this ideal into reality in everything we do. As this quote expresses, “The world of humanity has two wings – one is women and the other men. Not until both wings are equally developed can the bird fly” (Bahá’í writing).

“The aim of my film is to abolish women's oppression all over the world.” —Cyrus Neshvad, director of The Red Suitcase

We are delighted to invite you to the screening of “The Red Suitcase”. Directed by Cyrus Neshvad, a longtime friend of Unity Foundation, this Luxembourgish production has won 20 international awards and was nominated for the 2023 Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. This evening will be dedicated to women’s empowerment. Following the screening, a conversation with the director will be facilitated to discuss the film and inspire deeper reflections on the importance of promoting gender equality and the imperative to instil a sense of hope and optimism for humanity’s progress.

We will then present our network “Actors of Change”, and hear from the voices of our youth in Luxembourg on this topic. Our international partners will also offer some insights and experiences connected to their efforts dedicated to the advancement of women. And finally, we will launch “Social Water – Drink, Educate, Unite”, a unique project by lux-Airport, Thalus Water in a Box and Unity Foundation.
