On July 13th at 6pm at the Geeseknäppchen Forum (Luxembourg-City), in the context of the film festival “Cinéma du Sud”, Unity Foundation, together with AEIN, Kindernothilfe and ONGD-FNEL, organizes the screening of the film Ubuntu. 

The term “Ubuntu”, from the Bantu languages, means compassion and humanity, universal values at the heart of this Indian film.

The synopsis of the film is the following: “When the elders of their town decide to close the local school due to a lack of students, the students and their teacher mobilize to save it. Determined to seize their future, the protagonists do everything to convince other young people of the value of education and thus save their school.”

The screening of this film will be an opportunity to discover an inspiring story and to exchange views with two special guests, the directors of the National School for Adults (ENAD), and the organising NGOs, on issues related to the intellectual, moral and social development of children and youth in Luxembourg. How can we nurture their desire to learn? How can we prepare them against negative social influences that hinder their development? What new educational approaches can we promote as parents, teachers or young adults?

More than just a film, Ubuntu is an invitation to travel, to discover and to engage. It is a unique opportunity to open up to other cultures and stories to broaden our vision of the world. We hope to make this evening a moment of sharing that may inspire you to get involved in promoting the positive changes that are important to you! 

Suitable for all ages, you can come with your family, friends or children to discover this wonderful film. It will be on Tuesday 13th à 6pm at the Forum Geeseknäppchen!
