After a first collaboration in April 2021, Unity Foundation was invited to reconduct its workshop with 62 youths aged 13 to 15 during the school’s prevention week. The screening of the film Mercy’s Blessing followed by small group discussions allowed the participants to reflect on their responsibility to improve their own environment and contribute to unity and harmony in the school. 

Students in the English class are introduced to film making and draw on the film Mercy’s Blessing.

Aiming at accompanying the youth to illustrate the content on their exchanges through art, we cooperated with Youth4Planet to help the English class learn how to shoot films with their smartphones and how to tell good stories. Youth4Planet’s experience in this field enabled the youth to create rich and meaningful short films about women’s rights, mobbing and the importance of contentment and gratitude in a very short time.

It became very clear for us that accompanying the reflections with an artistic expression and a concrete project is essential if we want not only to raise awareness among youth but also to bring about change!
