Our awareness campaign takes off in 2019
04/07/2019Many donors and friends who share our vision of development decide to support us with very creative ways of fundraising, one of them being birthday fundraisers. Since 2018, we have seen a significant increase in these birthday initiatives. During the first quarter of 2019, we have had more than 10 birthday campaigns in favour of UF, raising an impressive total amount of 7.752,00 €.
For many years now, a number of friends have continuously decided to donate their birthdays to UF by either asking for donations instead of gifts during their birthday celebrations, or launching an online fundraising campaign using Facebook and Alvarum. We are particularly moved by the overwhelming response from children like Ambre, Chiara, Emma, Sam, Kevin, Matteo Noah, Pauline, Ana, and Julien, who all decided to turn their birthdays into opportunities to make a positive impact in local communities around the world.

Pauline was among the first to donate their birthday when she turned 8th. Since then, she has donated other birthdays and this year, together with her friend Ana, they raised 840 EUR. Her brother Julien, decided to follow their example, donating his 8th birthday raising 340 EUR. Below are a few testimonies which we hope will inspire you.
Why did Noah Piff decide to raise funds for UF for his 10th birthday?
“it was simply because I didn’t need any gifts and I thought children in Africa needed it more than myself”.
And what was Andy Ross’ motivation to raise funds for UF at the occasion of his 32nd birthday?
“I decided to do a Birthday Fundraiser with Unity Foundation because they embody an NGO with a vision and approach to their projects that go hand in hand with my beliefs. By supporting grass-root projects with a focus on education and the empowerment of local communities, I believe they have chosen the right way to run their projects.“
